Your WLPA is led by a Board of Directors from the Whiteoaks Lorne Park neighbourhoods. Our volunteer Board leads the activities and direction of Whiteoaks Lorne Park Community Association. The Board of Directors is elected annually at the Annual General Meeting. We are always looking for new ideas so please consider volunteering. Contact email@example.com to learn more.
The following is a list of our current Board of Directors.
Lynn has lived in the Clarkson/Lorne Park Community for over 33 years with my husband and two sons. Lynn has been very involved throughout those years with many community associations relating to my sons’ activities: school, hockey, soccer and scouts. Following a business career, Lynn is a realtor serving the Lorne Park community and beyond. She is also Chair of the Clarkson Business Improvement Association.
Cathy has lived in the Lorne Park area for many years and has been involved in community activities supporting her daughter’s love of dance, music, acting, and school. A small business owner, Cathy provides executive consulting expertise to the financial services industry. She is engaged with several philanthropic organizations and looks forward to bringing her passion to the Board and community.
Bob Atkinson is currently President of MPOWER Energy Solutions… a start-up in the energy storage industry. Prior to that he spent a number of years in Finance/Strategy within Retail and Banking. Bob is relatively new to the area, having lived the last 20 years in the Newmarket area. Bob is looking forward to giving back to his new community and the WLPCA is a great place to start. He has a son in Vancouver and two stepdaughters at home. An avid cyclist and hockey player (still holding onto the dream), Bob is settling in nicely to this wonderful community.
After a career as a senior leader with a large advertising agency, Stephanie is now a realtor working in the Lorne Park neighbourhood near where she grew up. In addition to her role on the board of the WLPCA Steph volunteers with a number of local organizations including the Canadian Cancer Society and the Clarkson Business Improvement Association.
Mary has been involved with the association for 2 years, but has lived in the Lorne Park area for almost 30 years with her husband and two children, both of whom have graduated from Lorne Park Secondary. She has been actively involved in the community through fundraising for various charities and the local schools. She was involved in school councils for many years.
Having lived most of her life in Lorne Park, Janet joins the Directorship of the WLPCA with a strong sense of community. She is raising her children here, has been a very active volunteer in the local schools and her local church community for many years. Up until the last few years, Janet has spent the majority of her career in the financial services sector, and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from her varied exposure to retail and commercial banking. She has always had a passion for real estate and decor, and is always excited to work with her clients to enhance their real estate transactions. Janet is very active in the equestrian world, and she and her husband are preparing for their fourth annual Ride to Conquer Cancer, raising funds for cancer research at Princess Margaret Hospital, one of the top 5 cancer research centres in the world.
Yvette has lived in the Lorne Park area for 15 years with her husband and two sons. She was drawn to this neighbourhood for it’s strong sense of community and wants to maintain and support the interest and spirit of the neighbourhood. Yvette is a Vice President at PIMCO, one of the world’s premier investment managers. She is a member and actively involved with Women in Capital Markets (WCM).
Dave has lived in the Clarkson/Lorne Park Community for 15 years with his wife Yvonne and two children. Dave has been very involved throughout those years in coaching hockey for both his daughter and son’s teams. Now that both children are more independent he is looking forward giving back to his community and sharing his experience with the WhiteOaks, Lorne Park Community Association. Dave is currently a CPA & Director of Finance for the Waterloo Brewing Company.
